Soldera announces release of new Super Tuscan, Pegasos, IGT Toscana, 100% Sangiovese

Gianfranco Soldera, producer of one of Montalcino’s most coveted wines, Brunello di Montalcino Case Basse, announced the release of a 100% Sangiovese Super Tuscan (IGT Toscana), Pegasos 2005.

According to a press release issued last week by the winery, the wine is made using 100% estate-grown grapes and is fermented “naturally” in large casks using “indigenous yeasts.” The unfiltered wine was aged for 32 months in large Slavonian oak casks before bottling.

The wine is called “Pegasos” or Pegasus, after the mythological winged horse.

Only 10,000 bottles were produced and will sell for approximately 78 Euro per bottle.
